Job Shadowing Opportunity!

GROUNDHOG SHADOW DAY 2015

 Have you started to look around your classroom and wonder, 'What's Next?' or dream about the job you will do after high school? 

Are you interested in pulling back the curtain on the world or work and spending a day with a mentor who wants to engage with students like you?

If yes, then this is your golden opportunity! 

Groundhog Shadow Day 2015 is a job shadow event open to high school students in Kent County on Monday, February 2, 2015 from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM.  This is your chance to investigate the reality of the job you think you might make into a career.

During the Groundhog Shadow Day experience you may:

• Get an overview of the company’s industry, the day-to-day operations of specific departments, positions available, and requirements for successful employment (i.e., level of education, career pathways); 
• Interact with a variety of professionals with different levels of responsibility, education, and experience;
• Engage in a hands-on activity or demonstration that reflects the skills required in that sector, if possible; and
• Preview current or recent projects so you understand some of the potential work demands required.

We have a wide range of job shadow opportunities for you to investigate!


The sign-up process has two stages: 

1. Complete the online sign-up form, which will require the completion and upload of a signature packet (see the sign-up for more details - your parent/guardian will need to provide approvals) 
2. Beginning January 5, 2015; students who have submitted the required online sign-up and signature packet will receive an access code from our Career Exploration team that will allow you to view the "job shadow board" and choose your Groundhog Shadow Day location. 

Please note that it is YOUR responsibility to make arrangements to/from your job shadow location.

It is also YOUR responsibility to make arrangements with your school to have your absence excused. The Career Exploration team is happy to provide any details your guidance or administrative office requires.
